Shortie update

So, we finally got the pantry completed. Thank you John for painting, and again to John's parents for helping build it. It looks great, and will soon be filled with baby supplies and food! (Notice Pepper on table, ready to pose...knowing she's not supposed to be on table)

Let's see, what else... well John and I attended a childbirth class at the hospital. It was pretty informative, and we liked hearing about the crazy stories from the instructor, a nurse of 20 years there. How women show up at the hospital on their due dates, just expecting the nurses to do something...and how a father took his newborn baby out to the vending machine, and the security alarms went on and everyone rushed to him thinking he was going to steal that baby. But at least we know they have good security there!

I got to see my friend Danielle last week. She lives in New Port Richey now, so it's been awhile. We met for lunch in Hyde Park, then headed over to the new Ikea store, which is a total adventure in itself.

Next day I went to Honeymoon Island with Jennifer and Dominick. It was a great day, right before was this rain started! Got to see Mamaw and Papaw too, at their condo.

This past week was pretty busy for me, and I think I have a slight sore throat and headache from it today. Broke down and took a Tylenol. On Monday, helped John finish pantry and put up wallpaper border in nursery. Tuesday, went to a baby play class with Kimberly (so cute to see 10 babies and moms sitting around a circle, babies staring at each other, while moms singing and demonstrating "head, shoulders, knees, and toes...") Then met Carly and Austin at the mall with Kimberly for lunch. Then met Susan at DayDreams Spa (awesome place ladies) for pedicures (well worth the money sometimes). Wednesday, cleaned house, rearranged kitchen cabinet contents, and put stuff in pantry. That night we met Dave, Susan, Rian, and her sister for dinner at Bahama Breeze, then to Green Iguana for drinks (Coke for me, haha!) Rian was in town visiting for a few days. She's always fun to hang out with (used to drink Long Islands with her at the Highlander, lol!). Great Jersey girl. She's a fellow Paratrooper, although poor thing, broke her pelvis in several places on a jump last fall, and is now walking with a cane, medically discharged from the Army. But she's improved alot and we're proud of her! She'll be using her "oops we're sorry" money to finish college. It was good to see old friends from Bragg again!K

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!! Say a prayer for our troops and veterans who work so hard every day to keep our country safe, and for those families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice.

25 weeks and counting...

Hey ya'll!
Happy May to you! Well, I'm 25 weeks along now (about 6 mos.) and feeling awfully large lately...look at the pics and you decide! Went to OB the other day, everything fine.

My friend Linda is having a baby girl in May so my friends Brooke and Susan and I decided to throw her a shower. This is her second, but hey, it's always fun to open a few gifts and have a yummy cake made by Brooke! Brooke hosted it at her house, and our husbands also came along...to grill the hamburgers, haha! We involved them in some games, like trying to get out little plastic babies frozen in cups, lots of licking going on! Chris, got out his baby first. Then the guys chugged (squirted, whatever) beer out of baby bottles. Paul, the father to be, won that one. John kind of cheated somehow. They couldn't drink too much beer cause they all had to go to work that day, haha! Then we ate and Linda opened gifts. We all gave her diapers. Brooke gave her personalized burp cloths and tag blankies, Susan gave her a basket with lotion and powder, and also onesies with painted decorations (a "Mini Burger" b/c their last name is Burger, so cute). I gave her a scrapbook.

John has gone crazy lately while working in the Lawn and Garden section at Lowe's. We now have green and red pepper plants, and tomato plants. A few tomatoes are already sprouting!
Also, John's Granny gave us several potted plants and flowers that we placed in different parts of our yard. One vine we planted so that it would grow around our mailbox. Also I already had desert roses there, and they're blooming now. Our front yard hibiscus plants are blooming too. She also gave us many amaryllis bulbs, can't wait to see those! Thanks Granny!

John's parents came to visit for a few days, and helped him build a pantry in our kitchen. It really only took about 2 1/2 days! They work great as a team! I couldn't do a whole lot, but I cooked dinner two nights in a row, and got high praise for it, so I was glad to do something. Now all we have to do is paint the walls and shelving. Thank you guys so much!! There's so much more space now...for baby food and diapers, haha! Here are some before and after shots:

Well that's all for now, hasta la vista!
