Busy Bees We Beeeeen

It was officially my first Mother's Day yesterday, and it was great! But first, a few things we've been up to: John finished up his first class for his MBA and passed, yay! Meredith got her first teeth-two at once on the bottom, and now loves looking at books, rolling around, and feeding herself snacks. I've been keeping busy with her! I try to make it to baby play group once a week, haven't been in awhile actually. And I've taken her to the library for story time once and a Peter Rabbit puppet show, she enjoyed both. She loves stroller rides and sitting in her excersaucer on the back porch. She also enjoyed going to Carly's pool and swimming with me and her little friends Austin, Kathleen, and Ryan (my friend Kimberly's children). I had my friends Brooke and Linda over to my house for a play date with their kids and it was fun. John's been working hard on the "jungle" in our yard, getting the pool ready to swim in, and pressure-washing the back porch concrete so it looks kind of white again, instead of brown with the oak buds. I went to a friend's baby shower a few weeks ago, while John played poker with the guys. Meredith went to her first Japanese steakhouse hibachi show Saturday night, with me and Eric, Julia, and Susan. She wasn't scared of the flames or flying knives ;)
We've been to church a few times, and the baby has been good in the nursery.
Yesterday, I went to my cousin's house in Dunedin for her annual Mother's Day get together. Tobi and Adam hosted in their beautiful newly remodeled house, and Meredith had fun playing with their kids Amery and Tully. My other McMullen cousins, Heather and Anna, from Knoxville, were in town visiting with their husband and boyfriend. And also Tobi's brothers Wade and Jeff were visiting from Gainesville. And Jennifer was there, so it was quite the Cousin Reunion! Haven't been in same room in like 10 years?! It was good to see everyone, and my grandparents and aunt and uncle also! Great food and people.
For Mother's Day, John got me roses, a card (trained him well, haha), and tickets to see The Sound of Music play in August. So thoughtful :) The baby didn't get me anything, but she gives me hugs, so that's ok!
Next time: our adventures in the beautiful green hills of West Virginia! Hopefully we won't come back brainwashed by the oh-so-peaceful and crafty, but very strange Minnonites ;) or get eaten by black bears... and no, we don't shoot the pretty deer that walk around the house eating the apples we give them....
